What is the Account Activation fee?

When you sign up for your first eLife activity, a $5 one-time activation fee will be added to your shopping cart.

What is the purpose?

In eLife, many of our Hosts open their homes for activities. By charging a one time activation fee, we know that the new eLife friend is a real person with a means to pay for their participation. This reduces the possibility of people joining eLife for the wrong motives, like stealing or harassment.

What if I cannot afford $5 at this time?

Not a problem. There is an option to request a pass.
